Ep. 83 - Stuck in Emmaus

The story of the Disciples on the Road to Emmaus in this weekend's Gospel provides us with so many rich points of reflection and Fr Manny and Jorge go through it from start to finish. The journey and experience of these two disciples is a beautiful parallel of both the Mass and of our ongoing call to be Christian witnesses. Though they start off walking in the wrong direction, Jesus encounters them where they are, reveals Himself to them in the Eucharist, turns them around, and sends them on mission.

As we reflect on this story, on our own lives, and on our lived experience of parish life and ministry, let's ask for the grace to not get stuck in Emmaus, but rather to continue journeying onward, with the Lord at our side, challenging us in new and surprising ways.
